If you're a LinkedIn user and use their BlackBerry 10 app to access the services, you'll have to turn to your web browser to access the services after November 27, 2017, according to an email being sent to BlackBerry LinkedIn users.

If you're a LinkedIn user and use their BlackBerry 10 or BBOS app to access the services, you'll have to turn to your web browser to access the services after November 27, 2017, according to an email being sent to BlackBerry LinkedIn users.

We are retiring the existing LinkedIn BlackBerry App on November 27, 2017, which means the app icon will remain on your phone but will no longer work.

You can continue to use LinkedIn on your BlackBerry phone by going to www.linkedin.com from your mobile web browser. From there you'll be able to access the full range of LinkedIn features, some of which were not available on the BlackBerry App.

Thanks for being a part of the LinkedIn community.

Sincerely, The LinkedIn Team

Given the app hasn't been updated since January 27th, 2015, and hasn't worked correctly in months, we won't pretend to be surprised it's being retired. Still, a bit sad to see yet another piece of BlackBerry 10 stroll off into the sunset. Of course, if you're using an Android-based BlackBerry you can continue using the LinkedIn for Android app.

BlackBerry announces at least another two years of support for BB10 and BBOS users

In addition to their announcement of Priv no longer receiving monthly security updates, BlackBerry has announced they'll continue to support BB10 and BBOS users for at least another two years but it's not without some caveats.

In addition to their announcement of Priv no longer receiving monthly security updates, BlackBerry has announced they'll continue to support BB10 and BBOS users for at least another two years but it's not without some caveats. Those caveats include the fact that some services will be shut down over time.

A little more than a year ago BlackBerry Executive Chairman and CEO, John Chen, declared that BlackBerry's transition to a software company was complete. And still, in an era where consumers have been "trained" to upgrade their phones every 18-24 months, it is a testament to the durability of our designs and brand loyalty that there are still millions of people actively using BB10 and BBOS devices, many of which are already more than ten years old.

We manufactured our last BB10 and BBOS devices in 2015 and in the years since we have received many questions about our plans for ongoing support. First, we want to say thank you for your continued interest and passion for all things BlackBerry. Second, we want to acknowledge that we know your productivity relies upon the security, reliability, dependability, durability, extended battery life, and ease-of-use we designed and built into each handset. Third, we want to reward your loyalty by committing to providing you with at least two full years of additional support for BB10 and at least two full years of BlackBerry network access for BBOS devices.

Reminder: WhatsApp will no longer support BBOS or BlackBerry 10 as of December 31

As of December 31, WhatsApp will no longer officially support BBOS or BlackBerry 10 and those still using the apps may see features stop functioning at any time.

It's 2018 and my WhatsApp is still working

Once the date passes Dec 31 2017, the app will go into "deprecation" mode. It will still continue to function for a short grace period, but some behaviors will change. Most importantly, you will no longer be able to re-register your account with the app. That means if you delete and reinstall it (or install it on a different phone), it will no longer allow you to verify your phone number and complete the setup process.

After the grace period, which is approximately two weeks after the published date, the app will go into "expired" mode. At this point, it will stop functioning as a usable WhatsApp client, and thus will no longer connect to our servers. (Around this same time, our servers will stop allowing the client to connect as well.) However, once it is expired, the BlackBerry 10 client app may still allow you to access your existing message content on your phone. This behavior should be similar to what was seen by everyone who forgot to update their app the last time our published expiration date had passed.

We've been down this road before, but it seems this time around, there will be no reprieve for BBOS or BlackBerry 10 support from WhatsApp. As of December 31, WhatsApp will no longer officially support BBOS or BlackBerry 10 and those still using the apps may see features stop functioning at any time.
