With BlackBerry moving to shut down BlackBerry World come December 31st, 2019, the BlackBerry World storefront team has already initiated some moves to make that process easier, but it means changes for developers and users!

BlackBerry OS 10.3.3.3216 autoloaders now available for download

Since February, there have been new builds of BlackBerry 10 appearing on BlackBerry servers and now finally, one of them has managed to get released. Files for OS 10.3.3.3216 have now been posted in the CrackBerry Forums.

As there's no change log to go along with the files, it's hard to say what exactly has been changed but a few differences have been noted.

I've tried a lot of Android video editing apps, none are as nice and simple as Story Maker.

Since the release of the Priv, BlackBerry has done a pretty good job of bringing their core apps to the Android platform, but as any BlackBerry 10 user knows, there are a couple of great BlackBerry 10 apps that never made their way to Android. Top of my list is Story Maker.

When it comes being able to play the latest and greatest mobile games, BlackBerry certainly doesn't have a great track record. With BlackBerry now on Android, though, I personally find myself trying out and playing more games than before.

They made efforts to change that with BlackBerry 10 and some big-name developers such as Rovio, Gameloft and more hopped on board but in the end, the bulk of gaming has been left to iOS and Android.

It seems as though BlackBerry World started having some issues over the weekend and those still using BlackBerry 10 are currently unable to download apps. We've reached out to BlackBerry to inquire, they noted they're aware of the issue.

And now BlackBerry World should be back up and running for all.

BlackBerry announces extended support for BlackBerry 10 and BBOS with some caveats

BlackBerry has now announced they will continue to support the critical infrastructure and services for BlackBerry 10 as well as network access for BBOS devices beyond 2019.

Originally scheduled to reach End of Life status in December 2019 after receiving two years of additional support back in December 2017, BlackBerry has now announced they will continue to support the critical infrastructure and services for BlackBerry 10 as well as network access for BBOS devices beyond 2019.

Much like the previous announcement where BlackBerry noted they would be shutting down some ancillary services such as BlackBerry World, BlackBerry Travel and PlayBook video calling, this announcement has some caveats you'll need to be aware of as well.

If you're in the process of setting up a BlackBerry 10 device right now, you might want to hold off for a bit as it seems BlackBerry ID is currently having some login issues.

If you're in the process of setting up a BlackBerry 10 device right now, you might want to hold off for a bit as it seems BlackBerry ID is currently having some login issues preventing folks from fully completing the process per usual. Instead, some people are being presented with error messages from BlackBerry ID.

Unable to connect to the BlackBerry ID server. Please make sure that you have the current date and time set and try again. (50507)

Even when setting the date and time correctly, the error will persist. Even odder, some folks have corrected the issue by intentionally setting it incorrectly. The good news, however, is that folks at BlackBerry have replicated the issue and they are working to resolve it.

If you're in the process of setting up a BlackBerry 10 device right now, you might want to hold off for a bit as it seems BlackBerry ID is currently having some login issues.

After running into some issues due to a certificate expiry date, BlackBerry ID services have now been fully restored and the issue marked as resolved. You can check out more details in the CrackBerry Forums.

Thanks to everyone who helped to guide others through workarounds and special issues with this one. The issue was related to a certificate expiry date, which should now be resolved.

Although BlackBerry has extended the life span of BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry 10, and PlayBook a few times now, that time has seemingly finally run out.

Although BlackBerry has extended the life span of BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry 10, and PlayBook a few times now, that time has seemingly finally run out. As announced on their software lifecycle page, BlackBerry will be terminating legacy services for BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry 10 and BlackBerry PlayBook effective January 4, 2022.

In 2016, BlackBerry Executive Chairman and CEO John Chen announced that the company's transition to a software company was complete. Since then, we've made great strides executing on our business strategy and today, we are focused on providing intelligent security software and services to enterprises and governments around the world.

As another milestone in the BlackBerry journey, we will be taking steps to decommission the legacy services for BlackBerry 7.1 OS and earlier, BlackBerry 10 software, BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.1 and earlier versions, with an end of life or termination date of January 4, 2022. We have chosen to extend our service until then as an expression of thanks to our loyal partners and customers.

As part of the End of Life process, BlackBerry applications and services such as BlackBerry Link, BlackBerry Desktop Manager, and BlackBerry Blend will no longer reliably work or will have limited functionality due to the backend infrastructure being removed.
